pretty good haul this black friday!

i started my black friday shopping yesterday at CVS and got tons of freebies! well it took me 4 transactions, and the retail total before tax here is $63.32 for the following

4 chocolate bars [$0.75 each with a $0.75 ECB each]
2 toothpastes [$2.87 each with a $2.87 ECB each]
2 listerine pocket packs [$2.99 each with a $2.99 ECB each]
2 chapsticks [one was $2 w/ $2 ECB, the other was $0.99 w/ $0.99 ECB]
1 pepto bismol 9$2.99 with a $2.99 ECB]
1 box of kleenex [$1.50 with a $1.50 ECB]
1 box of breathe rite strips [$5.99 - $1.50 coupon with a $5.99 ECB]
2 revlon nail polishes [$4.99 each with a $4 ECB each]
2 boxes of cinn toast crunch [$2.87 each with a $2 ECB each]

now, you guys kno i did not spend anywhere near this amount [what with coupons and ECBs i earned]. my total out-of-pocket costs came up to $13.42 and my unused ECBs added up to $8.87, making my cost after savings $4.55 for a savings of 92.83%

and i couldn’t resist going back for more today so i can spend some of my hard earned ECBs. i bought a pint of milk, 2 arizonas, and a sleeve of oreos for just $0.19 after using $4.87 worth of ECB. im really tempted to use my old CVS card and use it during this sale still going to get a bunch of other stuff for free. i could totally use some more breathe rite strips, toothpaste, and tissues. plus it cant hurt to get more lip and nail care. i have until tommoro to decide on this. sigh. why must i work a 9am to 5pm tomorrro???

i also got some fun stuff this black friday! today at work [ann taylor] there was a 50% everything sale until noon. i got there a half hr early so i decided to take advantage. i ended up with a pair of pants, 4 shirts, and a sleeveless sweater dress that retails for $368 but i got it for $98.70 yay! i been needed to shop for clothes since forever ago, so im really glad

CVS says, “Happy Birthday!” to me by giving me a $3 coupon on anything in the store! what an incredible gift for this newbie couponer =] on thurs i headed to PA to see my family for my usual bday cheesecake and overabundance of Dominican food. but my fave part, aside from seeing my 2 yr old godson, is hitting up CVS in PA for awesome deals. so i went on over there and my transaction went down like this

softsoap products: 2/$6
i had a $1 off the body wash and $0.35 off the handsoap
i also used my $3 off
paid $1.75 and got $4 ECB

this was the second time i ever got ECB and i likey! so i put my coupon safely away and waited for some sunday deals for when i got back to NYC. i picked up my newspaper and CVS circular today and studied my deals. then i headed over to CVS and had these transactions

Transaction One
green revlon nail polish $4.99 w/ CVS card
used my $4 ECB
paid $1.43 and got $3 ECB, plus $1 green tag reward

Transaction Two
plum revlon nail polish $4.99 w/ CVS card
used my $3 ECB and $1 green tag reward
paid $1.34 and got $3 ECB

Transaction Three
cheerios 2/$5.50 w/ CVS card
puffs plus $0.99 w/ CVS card
used $1 off coupon for 2 cheerios
used $3 ECB plus another $2.50 ECB from summer spending
paid $0.04 and got $1 ECB

all of these totaled to $3.56 for about $25 worth of stuff for about 86% savings!

CVS is so amazing! i went with chio to buy a few things for the house and groceries. look at all the stuff we got! we got a few things at regular price like the lactaid milk, granola, a box of energy milk, pads, toilet paper, and paper towels. everything else was either on sale or i had a coupo for or both! here’s how the rest of our money got spent:
cheerios at 2 for $5 - $0.75 off Honey Nut Cherrios box = $2.13 eachclorox wipes at 2 for $5 [originally $4.99 each] = $2.50 eachbottled water at $1.57 - CVS coupon $0.50 off = $1.07chow mein noodles = $1 eachskittles bags at 2 for $6 - CVS BOGO free coupon - 2 $1 off coupons = $1 eachBIC shavers at $8.39 - $2 off any 3 count Bella Soleil coupon = $6.39CVS batteries $6.79 each - BOGO free - CVS coupon $3 off batteries = $1.90 each
in addition to all these i also used a CVS coupon for $4 off a purchase of $20+ and a $3 off a $15 groceries purchase. if there were no sales and i did not use my CVS card i would have spent $71.85,after scanning my CVS card it bumped down to $53.72, and after all my coupons it went down even more to $36.80 for a savings of 51.22% [and on top of that my cousin and i split the total]. cant wait to make my skittles vodka!
**EDIT**i just realized i got starbursts today instead of skittles, and since i already opened one bag i guess ima have to just exchange the other. but the recipe for skittles vodka calls for a pound of skittles, so my one bag from last week may be enough

amazing trip to CVS with my mom! so i’m still trying to teach her about coupons and luckily she had her house keys with her this time so i could show her the beauty of their coupon center. i scanned my card and got a few coupons and then i had her scan hers as well. she got the coupons for the free bandages and chocolate like i had, then we got to work.
this CVS had the bandages but it was hard finding them since they look so similar to all the other ones on the shelf but we managed to get some. i almost took two boxes of the knuckles and fingertips one but then mom correctly noticed two boxes of CVS brand 20 count fabric bandages nearby so we got those instead. then i headed over to the candy aisle to get some skittles [had a coupon for it] and then by the registers we found the chocolates.
i went to pay first and it went down like thisskittles bag: $3.49 - $1 off any bag of skittles = $2.49caramello bar: $1.19 - free hershey’s caramello = $0bandages: $3.49 - free CVS 20 count fabric bandages = $0total before savings: $8.17paid: $2.49 for a savings of about 70%
mom went next and her transaction went like thisbandages: $3.49 - same coupon i had = $0caramello: $1.19 - same coupon i had = $0total before savings: $4.68paid: $0 for a savings of 100%
my mom was amazed! she literally walked into the store just to accompany me and she walked out with two free items! the only downside i had for this trip is i totally forgot to scan my green bag tag. i forgotten like 3 times already so i could have been had some rewards a while ago. oh well, there’s always next time!
